A new year

It was an interesting start to the new year. My dad was admitted to the hosptial on New Year's Eve with pneumonia. And as I write this I'm sitting with him as he's still here. We're hoping he'll go home today so were just waiting for the doctor to come by. I really hope this isn't a sign as to the way his health will be for the year. It's eye opening to say the least that my parents are getting older and are facing more health issues.

We did enjoy a fun night with good friends for New Year's Eve. We had a big bonfire and shot fireworks until about 10:00. We ended it early so we could all get home and be ready to attend church on Sunday.

However, my New Year's Day was spent visiting my dad in the hospital. It wasn't the way we would have liked to spend it but we knew that he was in the right place.

Here's hoping and praying that the year isn't filled with hospital stays!
