Pray for Alabama

Please say a prayer for our state today. We had some devastating storms come through yesterday and the loss of life is huge. As of right now, there are 162 confirmed deaths and I expect that number to continue to rise throughout the day. Millions are with out power. People have lost everything.

While I'll never understand the why's of things like this, I do know that God is in control!!

Thanks!

Weigh-In

I weighed today and I'm down 3 pounds! I was so excited! Looks like the exercise is working and I'm really enjoying going each morning. I was so excited about the weight loss I turned down a delicious dessert a friend offered today! Gotta watch those calories!

Wonderful Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend! It started on Saturday morning. I got up and had a good hour and half workout at the gym. I knew I needed to stay longer because the gym wouldn't be open on Sunday. I went home and cleaned the house. Who says your workout has to be at the gym? Then we had the priviledge of taking our niece to our church's Easter egg hunt. We had a blast! She found lots of eggs, the ice cream truck came and we caught some fishes too. Once we returned her to her house, I went for my pedicure/manicure. After the workouts I had that morning, the massage chair was a God-send to my aching back.

Sunday morning I woke up bright and early to finish what I needed to do before going to church. Stuffed the deviled eggs, made the muffins and cooked the casserole for Sunday school's breakfast, curled my nieces hair and got myself dressed for church. I was a little late for choir but so were several others. Our worship service was truly awesome. The songs, the readings, and the message all worked together for a joyous Easter celebration. We left Sunday school early to hit the road to my sister's house for lunch and family fellowship! What a fun time we had together! You just can't beat spending time with family! Maundy Thursday

It's Holy Week and tonight is our church's Maundy Thursday service. It's a time to reflect and remember what my Savior went through leading up to his crucifixion. We'll have the Lord's supper just like Jesus had with his disciples. As I was looking for a verse to do for our family's daily email that we send, I came to this verse in Matthew 26,

Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”

I've thought and thought about this and I can truly see the human side of Jesus. As much as he wanted to follow His father's plan, he also knew what was ahead of him and he was asking for it to be taken from him. And yet, he tells his Father, not my will but yours!

How I struggle with this in my life! I know that God has a beautiful plan for me, however, I admit there are times when I follow my own plans.

Tonight as I participate in our service may my prayer be that of Jesus...not my will but yours, Father!

I'm still here

I didn't realize it has been a while since my last post! Work has been busy and when I have a thought to post I'm usually not where I can post it. I finally joined the gym and love it! I get up early to go and love how it gets my day started just right. I hope to see some results soon.

Hopefully the posts will continue and life will slow down a bit!

Harry is here!

My nephew Harry was scheduled to arrive via C-section on the 12th but decided to throw a wrench in those plans. He chose to arrive on Friday the 8th. He weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. and was 19 3/4 inches long. He is precious and we are all in love with him! He is welcomed by his mommy, daddy, and big sister, Kenzie.
