Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to my hubby! Today you turn 39 but I know in your heart of hearts you don't feel like it! It's my prayer that God will bless you immeasurably this year and that you can see the many blessings He's poured out on you today and every day!
I love you!

Hospitality

My sister is someone who has the gift of hospitality. Every month me and my 4 sisters along with my mother get together just to spend time with each other. 2 of my sisters live out of town and it gives us one time out of the month to get together and just visit. Each month is designated to one of us to plan what we're going to do. We've had dessert at a park, eaten pizza downtown, painted pottery, and had manicures/pedicures so far. Last month my sister Kelly really outdid all of us!

She invited us to her house and this is the table she had set for us.

Isn't that just beautiful!

We started off with 2 types of scones, plain and cherry. She had lemon curd and red plum jelly to put on those. Yummy! I loved the cherry ones. Our next course was the cheddar broccoli soup. I have to tell you that I'm not a big fan of broccoli but this was wonderful!

See.... can't you just taste it???

Our next course was a crescent roll with a chicken mixture in it. I'm so glad she told me after I ate it what was in it because I'm not a fan of bell peppers either. And she had a fruit salad on the side.

It was so good!

Our last course was dessert. By this time I was stuffed but I can never say no to Ms. Martha's (Kelly's mother-in-law) sand tarts. They melt in your mouth and you can't eat just one. They are homemade and always the same size. They are scrumptious!

How could you say no to those?

She also had these miniature cakes that were delicious. The white one is a strawberry and the nutty looking one is italian creme. My favorite was the strawberry.

It was an amazing lunch and we had a good time fellowshiping and just sharing with each other! I truly love this time with my sisters and mom. Can't wait until next month!

You're amazing, Kelly!

15 years

Yesterday Chad and I celebrated 15 years of marriage! It's hard to believe it's been that long! Like most marriages ours isn't perfect and we've weathered some pretty big storms. And through it all, God has been there with us the whole time. If I had to choose, our infertility has been the biggest issue for me to deal with. The struggle to have a child has been so hard. As with any celebration, there are the happy times yet with our anniversary, the reminder of how long we've been trying to have a child is always in the back of my mind. I am still confident that God is in control and he's given me a spirit of contentment that can only come from him!

We enjoyed having the day off and spending time with each other. There is a state park close by that Chad has never been to. So we decide to venture out and see what it was about. If you'd like to know more check it out...http://www.forttoulouse.com/

Here are a couple of pictures too!

Getting to this spot was a good little hike.

A sign of spring!

A historical marker

The fort!

Afterwards we went to dinner! It was a wonderful day and I'm truly thankful for the man God allowed me to marry!
