About a month and a half ago, our social worker called Chad and presented him with an expectant mother. He wanted to know if we wanted our profile shown to her. He usually does because on our "Desired Child Form" we marked on certain things it would be a case by case situation for us. This particular mother has a history of drug use but has been clean for the past couple of years. The only thing is that she has smoked throughout her pregnancy.
Now our agency doesn't show the mothers profiles until they have about 4-6 weeks left in their pregnancy. Chad called about 2 weeks ago and our sw told him he hadn't heard anything. We gave it another week and he called again this. We got the same answer that he hasn't heard back. So you're probably thinking what's the point to this post. Here it is: With all the previous times we've been shown, we've had a answer (You weren't chosen) rather quickly too!
Also to add to the intrigue, it's time to update our homestudy. This requires physicals, blood work and a home visit from our social worker. We were told he was going to send them and he's yet to put them in the mail. He did tell Chad that he has to schedule a home visit before April 3 in order for our homestudy to be updated.
I could be reading too much into all of this but I'm just curious as to why the delay! Just let us know something already. Even if we were chosen they aren't going to tell us anything until everything is signed and we can come pick up our baby. This expectant mother is due at the end of March, so the earliest we could have a baby is end of April first of May!
But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently. Romans 8:25 (NLT)
