It's Quiet

Life is hard! It's been three day since my best friend and assistant left to take a new job. While I'm super happy for her and the opportunity this is for her family, I have to say that I miss her! Especially during this time of day. It's naptime here at work and it's too quiet. Yes, there is the occasional baby cry from our infant room but other than that it's eerily quiet.

I can hear the rain falling outside and I sense that God is reminding me just how close he is to me! He's telling me to focus on Him and engage in conversation with Him during this quiet time. He wants me to think about Him and to develop a deeper relationship with him. To find the blessings of the day in all that I see and do and to thank Him for them. Because He's the one that placed it there for me! And perhaps it's God's way of telling me that it's in those quiet moments when you'll hear me better than ever!

The LORD said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by.”
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 1 Kings 19:11-12
